Why use this tool?
Your PDF and password are never uploaded to any server; rendering and image encoding happen locally in your browser. PDF.js, its worker, fonts and character maps are self-hosted. No CDN, account or saved PDF history is needed. The reverse Image to PDF tool is available under related tools.
Tool inputs stay in your browser. Only your theme preference is saved on this device.
A few things worth knowing
Which PDFs and page ranges can I use?
One PDF up to 50 MiB with 1–2,000 pages. Export up to 20 pages at a time. Leave the selection blank for all pages when there are at most 20, or enter numbers and inclusive ranges such as 1, 3-5. Duplicates are removed and images export in ascending page order. The first 20 pages are selected initially for larger documents.
Can I open a password-protected PDF?
Enter the password before choosing the PDF. If the password is missing or wrong, enter the correct value and choose the PDF again. Changing the password unloads the current document. The tool does not recover passwords or bypass encryption. Passwords stay in page memory and Clear removes them.
How do resolution and quality work?
Choose 72, 144, 200 or 300 DPI. Each rendered page must fit within 12 megapixels and 8,192 pixels per side; choose lower DPI for oversized pages. PNG encodes the rendered pixels losslessly, while JPEG uses the selected lossy quality. Both use a white page background. A low-resolution scan does not gain real detail at higher DPI.
Does the preview have the same resolution as the download?
No. Preview is capped to fit your screen. Placement and page rotation follow the PDF renderer, but exported images use your selected DPI. Download a page and inspect it at full size when exact detail matters.
Will every PDF look identical to my original viewer?
Rendering can differ with missing fonts, unusual color spaces, complex forms, advanced PDF features or malformed files. WebAssembly is disabled, so specialized color conversion or image decoding can differ or fail. XFA rendering is disabled. Check the preview and downloaded output. Scripts, links and attachments are not opened by this tool; images have no interactive PDF behavior.
What are the output and processing limits?
Encoded images are limited to 80 MiB in total. Pages render sequentially and the ZIP is built in a local worker. If any selected page fails, no partial batch is offered. Loading has a 30-second response limit; reading a page 20 seconds, rendering 30 seconds, encoding 15 seconds and ZIP packaging 20 seconds. Browser memory limits may be lower.
What happens when I change settings or stop?
Changing export settings clears previous downloads and cancels pending work. Stop discards partial exports, while Clear unloads the PDF and removes the password. Late results are ignored and application-held resources are released when leaving the page. PDF inputs are not stored in browser storage.
