Static PNG, JPEG or WebP · up to 20 MiB, 16 MP and 8,192 px per side

One line, up to 120 characters. Long text automatically shrinks to fit.
Applies to JPEG and WebP. PNG ignores quality.
LIVE WATERMARK PREVIEW

Choose an image to preview your watermark.

Ready. Choose an image to begin.

The preview uses the same placement as full-size export, before lossy compression. Export creates a new image and does not preserve original metadata. Visible watermarks can be edited or removed; they are not copy protection.

Images above the dimension limit need Image Resizer first.

A FEW SIMPLE STEPS

How to use Image Watermark

  1. Choose or drop the base PNG, JPEG or WebP image.
  2. Choose Text watermark and enter one line, or Image / logo watermark and select a local image.
  3. Adjust size, position, opacity and margin. Text also supports font, color, bold and an optional black outline. Review the live preview.
  4. Choose an output format, select Export watermarked image, then download. Changing inputs clears old downloads.

Why use this tool?

Your base image and watermark image are never uploaded to any server; all editing and export happen locally in your browser. No account or image history is needed. Preview and export use the same placement calculation, and actual output MIME type is checked before download.

Tool inputs stay in your browser. Only your theme preference is saved on this device.

A few things worth knowing

Can I watermark with text or a logo?

Yes. Text supports one line of up to 120 characters, three system font families, color, bold and a black outline. Image watermarks support static PNG, JPEG and WebP, including transparent PNG logos. Choose one watermark type at a time; tiled or multiple watermarks are not included in this version.

How do size, position and margin work?

Choose from nine positions. Margin is a percentage of the base image’s shorter side. Text size is also a percentage of that shorter side, and long text shrinks to fit. Logo width is a percentage of the base image width, with its aspect ratio preserved and size reduced further when needed to fit. Enlarging a small logo can look soft.

What are the image limits?

Base images can be up to 20 MiB and logos up to 10 MiB. Both must fit within 16 megapixels and 8,192 pixels per side and decode in your browser. Static PNG, JPEG and WebP are supported. SVG, GIF, AVIF, HEIC and detected animated PNG/WebP are not supported. Use Image Resizer first for larger dimensions.

Does watermarking change size or metadata?

Export keeps the browser-oriented base image dimensions and creates a new raster file. Original metadata, encoded bytes and exact color-profile behavior are not preserved. The preview is scaled for the screen and shows the composition before lossy export compression. System fonts and glyph appearance can differ between devices.

How are opacity and transparency handled?

Opacity applies only to the watermark, including an image logo’s own transparency and any text outline. PNG and WebP retain transparency where supported. JPEG fills transparent areas with the selected background color. Quality affects JPEG and WebP; PNG ignores it.

Does a visible watermark prevent copying?

No. A watermark adds a visible mark but can be cropped, edited or removed. It is not encryption, ownership verification or copy protection.

What happens when I change settings or files?

Changes discard previous downloads and late export results. Encoding has a 15-second response limit. Clear and leaving the page release application-held bitmaps, previews and object URLs. Your input images and text are not stored in browser history by this tool.
