Static PNG, JPEG or WebP · 20 MiB and 40 MP. The image is decoded only to read its oriented dimensions, then released. No image is kept or resized.

Used in Percentage mode. Linked dimensions round to the nearest whole pixel, with a minimum of 1 px.

The diagram is scaled to fit, with a minimum visible thickness for extreme ratios. Calculations allow up to 100,000 px per side for planning; image tools have their own processing limits. This tool does not modify or download an image.

A FEW SIMPLE STEPS

How to use Aspect Ratio Calculator

  1. Enter source width and height, choose a common preset, or read dimensions from a local image.
  2. Choose whether to calculate by target width, target height or a percentage of the source size.
  3. Enter your target value or adjust the scale slider. Review calculated dimensions, simplified ratios and any rounding notice.
  4. Download the calculation as TXT, or enter the dimensions in Image Resizer. This calculator does not modify images.

Why use this tool?

Your dimensions and optional image stay on your device. All calculations happen locally, and imported images are decoded only to read oriented dimensions before being released. No files are uploaded, no account is required, and no input history is stored.

Tool inputs stay in your browser. Only your theme preference is saved on this device.

A few things worth knowing

How are ratios and missing dimensions calculated?

Source width and height are reduced by their greatest common divisor. A target width calculates height from the source ratio; a target height calculates width. Percentage mode scales both source dimensions. Calculated dimensions round to the nearest whole pixel with a minimum of 1 px, and any ratio difference is explicitly reported.

Can I use the slider and type exact values?

Yes. Percentage mode has a synchronized slider and exact input from 1 to 1,000%, in steps of 0.1%. Width and height modes use exact whole-pixel values. The calculated side is read-only; switch modes to edit the other side.

Does this resize or crop my image?

No. This is a dimension-planning calculator. Optional image import reads its dimensions only and releases the decoded image. Open Image Resizer, Batch Image Resizer or Image Cropper to process a file. The preview is a proportion diagram, not an image preview.

What are the limits?

Manual source and target dimensions are limited to 1–100,000 px per side for planning. Actual image tools have smaller processing limits. Optional static PNG, JPEG or WebP files must fit within 20 MiB, 40 MP and 16,384 px per side. Browser orientation applies. Extreme preview proportions use a minimum visible thickness. TXT reports include dimensions and ratios without the source filename or image.
