Shift pitch. Keep the original duration. Local audio · no uploads

Up to 128 MiB per file; decoded audio up to 256 MiB (about 23 min mono / 11½ min stereo). Formats depend on your browser's decoder. Working audio and WAV exports use 48 kHz.

Source waveform

Your waveform will appear here.

Click the waveform to seek the source; use Play/Pause, exact time or jump controls. Pitch changes apply live while playing. Duration stays unchanged; the waveform remains the original source. The source ruler always shows original source time.

Playback stopped.

Pitch settings

Change the pitch while playing to hear it immediately. Uncheck to compare original audio; exports always use the chosen pitch.

One semitone is one chromatic step. +12 raises an octave; −12 lowers an octave. Duration remains unchanged.
100 cents = one semitone. The combined shift must stay within −12 to +12 semitones. Fine tuning is added to the semitone setting.
Output duration (unchanged)Choose audioCombined shift appears here.

The original file stays unchanged.

Listening volume affects monitoring only. Source and result use the same duration; listening volume does not affect export.

Input up to 128 MiB; source and output float audio each have a 256 MiB limit. Output keeps the source sample count. Live pitch changes may take a short processing buffer to become audible. Large shifts can cause warbling or transient artifacts.

ACTUAL PITCH-ADJUSTED WAV

Create a WAV to preview the actual adjusted file.

48 kHz · 16-bit PCM WAV · original channel count. Browser decoding may resample input. SoundTouchJS combines WSOLA time stretching with Lanczos resampling. No voice isolation, formant correction, key detection, normalization or beat alignment is added. Pitch processing can change peaks; out-of-range samples are clipped and counted. Tags/artwork are omitted. Changing settings clears old exports. Export runs in a cancellable local worker. Pitch shifting can change vocal timbre and soften transients. Inspect and listen to the actual result.

A FEW SIMPLE STEPS

How to use Pitch Shifter

  1. Choose or drop audio, or try the sample. Wait for ready status and review the source waveform.
  2. Set whole semitones and optional cents, or choose a preset. The combined shift stays within one octave in either direction.
  3. Press Play preview. Change pitch live, seek with waveform or transport controls, and bypass processing to compare original audio.
  4. Create the adjusted WAV, listen to the actual output and download it. Settings changes clear previous exports.

Why use this tool?

Your audio is never uploaded to any server. Local SoundTouchJS processing, decoding, playback and WAV encoding run entirely in your browser using self-hosted code. The original file stays unchanged.

Tool inputs stay in your browser. Only your theme preference is saved on this device.

A few things worth knowing

Does pitch shifting change duration?

The exported WAV retains the decoded source sample count, sample rate and channel count. Pitch changes while duration stays fixed. Processing combines WSOLA time stretching with Lanczos resampling; it may soften transients, change timbre or cause warbling. It is not lossless.

How do semitones and cents combine?

Each whole semitone is one chromatic step; 100 cents equals one semitone. The combined shift is semitones plus cents divided by 100 and must stay between −12 and +12 semitones. +12 doubles frequency and −12 halves it. Presets reset fine tuning to zero. Fine shifts use floating-point precision.

Can I hear changes while playing?

Yes. Pitch updates apply to the playing AudioWorklet without restarting the source. A short processing buffer can delay the audible change. Original-audio comparison affects monitoring only; exports always use the chosen shift. Seeking or restarting opens a fresh processing region, whose boundary sound can differ from continuous playback.

Does this detect key or correct vocal formants?

No key or note detection, automatic tuning, voice isolation, formant correction, normalization or beat matching is included. Vocals can sound brighter or darker as pitch changes. Use Tempo Changer for duration adjustment with pitch preservation, or Audio Speed Changer for coupled pitch and speed.

What are the input and output limits?

One file up to 128 MiB, mono/stereo, decoded at 48 kHz within a 256 MiB float buffer. Output has its own 256 MiB float budget and preserves source duration. Browser/device memory may impose lower limits. AudioWorklet needs a supported browser and HTTPS or localhost. Export is 48 kHz 16-bit PCM WAV; tags/artwork are omitted. Samples beyond PCM range are clipped and counted.

Can I cancel an export?

Yes. Stop export, clear, replacement or changing pitch terminates the local worker and discards obsolete results. Download enables only after the actual generated WAV preview loads. Source and exported players have independent seek controls.
