Ready. Start explicitly to begin.

Start requests camera permission without microphone access. Stop releases it. Camera preference changes require another explicit Start.

What this test can show

Camera access is requested only on Start, on HTTPS or localhost, with browser permission. Audio is never requested. The preview is live and local: no recording, snapshot storage, remote links or upload. Facing direction and dimensions are preferences, not guarantees. Reported frame rate is a delivered track setting, not a measured dropped-frame analysis. Stop, hidden tab, switching or exit releases every camera track.

Why use this tool?

These tools run locally and do not upload your device observations, camera video, microphone input or interaction events. There are no accounts or stored test histories. Camera and microphone access stays under browser permission controls.

Tool inputs stay in your browser. Only your theme preference is saved on this device.

A few things worth knowing

What does this test measure?

Camera access is requested only on Start, on HTTPS or localhost, with browser permission. Audio is never requested. The preview is live and local: no recording, snapshot storage, remote links or upload. Facing direction and dimensions are preferences, not guarantees. Reported frame rate is a delivered track setting, not a measured dropped-frame analysis. Stop, hidden tab, switching or exit releases every camera track.

Can the website certify my hardware is working?

No. The browser exposes a limited set of events and reported settings. Inspect or listen to the actual result and compare with other applications if needed. Missing browser events or unavailable features do not prove a hardware failure.

What happens when I stop or leave?

Active input capture, audio playback and camera/microphone tracks are released on Stop, hidden tab, workspace switching and page exit. Pending permission results are ignored and late tracks stopped. Reports download only when explicitly chosen.
