CAD Workspace

View, inspect, convert and scale supported 2D drawings, or explore 3D models in one private workspace. Choose a workflow to open its full controls and previews.

Opening another workflow releases the active inputs and result. Drawings, layer choices, scale settings and results do not transfer automatically. Save any required output explicitly before switching.

Choose a tool from the dropdown to begin.

Each workflow keeps its own previews, file status and geometry limits. DXF conversions approximate supported 2D content; text, fills, units and unsupported entities vary by operation. Read the active tool’s scope notes. DXF to PDF produces a fitted raster PDF. Use 3D Model Viewer for supported meshes and point clouds. DWG and full CAD editing remain outside this workspace.

Reset restores that workflow’s defaults. It releases the current inputs, outputs and any active worker.

A FEW SIMPLE STEPS

How to use CAD Workspace

  1. Choose a CAD workflow from the dropdown. It opens immediately.
  2. Load a local file or use the workflow’s example when available.
  3. Review settings, previews, units and reported limitations before downloading.
  4. Save the output before switching; opening another workflow releases the active file and result.

Why use this tool?

All drawing processing stays in your browser. The workspace reuses the same local engines, file status feedback and export previews as the standalone tools. Only the active workflow is loaded.

Tool inputs stay in your browser. Only your theme preference is saved on this device.

A few things worth knowing

Are files carried between workflows?

No. Switching releases the previous workflow, files and results. Download the output and select it explicitly in the next compatible workflow. Reset restores the current workflow’s defaults; Close releases it and returns to the picker.

Does this preserve every CAD entity?

No. These tools handle a bounded supported 2D subset and report omissions. Curves may be sampled, text simplified or omitted, blocks flattened, and fills outlined depending on the workflow. Check the active tool’s scope notes. Preserve the original and verify important output in CAD software.

Can it open DWG or edit 3D models?

The 3D Model Viewer workflow explores supported static meshes and point clouds. Full 3D editing and DWG remain outside this workspace. PDF tracing and vector extraction have different limits; neither guarantees reconstruction of an original CAD drawing.
